"陸亀"という意味のTORTOISE。
昔から「鶴は千年亀は万年」と言われ、
日本では鶴と並んで「長寿の象徴」として
縁起の良いものとされています。お手入れは要らず長持ちする
この亀の甲羅のようなサボテン。
しかし水には弱いことから、
水に入れない"陸亀"と言う意味の
TORTOISEと名付けられました。
"TORTOISE means "land turtle.
It has been said that a crane lasts a thousand years
and a tortoise ten thousand years,
and in Japan, along with the crane,
it is considered a symbol of longevity and good luck.
This tortoise-shell-like cactus requires no care
and lasts a long time.
However, it is sensitive to water,
which is why it was named Tortoise,
meaning "land turtle.
