"鶴"という意味のCRANE。
昔から「鶴は千年亀は万年」と言われるように
"長寿の象徴"とされ、
鶴の声はとても高くよく響くことから
「天と地をつなぐもの」として、
天にいる神様の所まで声が届く、
ありがたい鳥とされてきました。また、CRANEは"首を伸ばす"と言う意味もあり、
お手入れいらずで長持ちする
首の長いこのサボテンの名前の由来となりました。
